A scenic summer walk through Lynn Glen’s woodland and waterfalls in Dalry, North Ayrshire.
I set out on a deceptively warm summer’s day to walk through the Lynn Glen in Dalry, North Ayrshire. The walk began along Lovers’ Walk beside the River Garnock and Putyan Burn before leading into the dramatic landscape of the glen itself.
The trail was short but full of variety. From peaceful woodland paths under the shade of towering trees to narrow, uneven sections with steep drops. The highlight was the roaring waterfall hidden within the canyon, its sound filling the air as I made my way closer.
Despite the walk’s length, it felt challenging at times, with steep climbs that left me catching my breath. The warmth of the day made the effort even more noticeable, though the shade of the trees and the cool rush of water provided relief. Jacket off!
This walk was a reminder of how much beauty is packed into the Ayrshire countryside. Waterfalls, greenery, birdsong, and the sense of being immersed in a rugged, hidden spot made the afternoon both refreshing and rewarding.
