A wet and wild wander through Ayrshire’s Lynn Glen.
I went for a walk at Lynn Glen in Dalry, Ayrshire, during heavy rain. From the start, the ground was soaked and muddy. Every step was a bit of a slog, and I had to watch my footing to avoid slipping. The river was loud and fast-moving, really roaring with all the rain.
The rain didn’t let up the whole time. It was steady and cold, soaking through. The path was narrow in places and pretty boggy, especially near the water. There wasn’t much shelter from the trees either. Everything was dripping, and the wind didn’t help.
Still, despite the mess and discomfort, there was something good about it. The place felt wild and unfiltered, and the river was impressive in full flow. Not the most pleasant walk weather wise, but memorable all the same.
