The countryside of Scotland is an explosion of greenery at this time of year.
I went for a walk in the North Ayrshire countryside recently, and it felt very much alive with the season. Everywhere you looked, there was lush greenery. From the wide fields to the tall trees lining the paths. The landscape was a gentle mix of rolling hills, patches of woodland, and open farmland, creating a peaceful and varied setting for the walk.
The atmosphere was calm and still for the most part, broken only by birdsong and the occasional rustle of leaves in the breeze. There was a fresh, earthy smell in the air that reminded me how different it feels to be out in the countryside compared to the town. Walking through those quiet spaces gave a real sense of being away from it all. It’s the sort of place where you can easily lose yourself in the surroundings and just take your time without any rush.
North Ayrshire is on the southwestern coast of Scotland, about 40 minutes on the train from Glasgow.
