Caught between downpours: a fleeting but scenic look at Ben Ledi, a favourite Trossachs hike from Callander.
Ben Ledi is a well-known landmark from Callander and the highest mountain in the main part of the Trossachs – a beautiful area of wooded glens, braes, and lochs lying to the east of Ben Lomond. Much of the Trossachs is protected by various conservation designations, including the Great Trossachs Forest National Nature Reserve.
Ben Ledi is a very popular hill walk in Scotland, and its location on the edge of the Highlands makes it a superb viewpoint.
During a flying visit, I went in search of a scenic view of the mountain from Callander town, while trying to dodge torrential rain showers – hence the short length of this video. I’ll definitely have to return to Callander for a longer visit someday.
